Cathy is a mental health therapist who specializes in working with children and adults impacted by divorce, grief, suicide, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and trauma. Cathy utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness, tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), and psychoeducation. She has been providing counseling in the Rapid City area, as well as Cheyenne River and Pine Ridge Reservations since 1999.
Cathy earned her Bachelor’s in English and secondary education from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN. She received her Master’s degree in counseling at South Dakota State University-WRCG in Rapid City, SD. She became a licensed, professional mental health counselor in 2005 (LPC-MH 2110) and has been a certified addiction counselor since 2015.
